He was produced by Ernie and Denise Gamroth at Battle River Alpacas, and his quality is a testament to their breeding program. Description

We knew the moment he hit the ground that Erasmus was going to be everything we could have hoped from pairing Roxcene with Bocelli. He displays both parents stellar temperaments, as well as a fantastic fleece and phenotype.

Covered from head to toe in crimpy white fleece, Erasmus' displays his sire's lustre, length and crimp style, paired with Roxcene's density and organization, producing bundles of really attractive, beautiful fleece that we love working with. He is one of the densest animals on our farm, and he maintains excellent fleece length which leaves him in a position of frequently cutting heavy fleeces year after year-- his 2025 total clip weight was 11.5lbs, which, from an 8yo male who averages 135lbs (shorn) we are quite pleased with.

Erasmus is a medium sized animal with excellent capacity relative to his frame, and a fantastic typey, macho head style, even into maturity. He is square in his stance and quite compact overall, very much like his dam in this regard. He is a very alert animal with an upright head carriage, and an excellent disposition overall.

Erasmus is extremely easy going and sociable, just like his parents. This boy will do anything you ask of him willingly, quietly and without hesitation. He hasn't a single cross bone in his body, making him an absolute joy to work with both on and off lead.

We have had great success so far in using him on females we want to increase length, fleece weight, and fleece style in, while also cleaning up those primaries from the overall blanket area. He has further excelled in putting his upright stance and added depth to the females he is paired with, alongside coverage, which is quite nice.
